Goodnight

Lela made it through all her feeds today. She is only taking 4ml at a time, but she's holding them down. Tomorrow we'll try to increase her feeds. Today she weighed 3lbs 5oz, less than her birth weight of 3lbs 10oz, but this loss is normal.
She definitely has a nice strong suck now. I think it is difficult to tell in these pictures just how tiny her head is, but imagine how small this pacifier must be and it will give you an idea. The tip of my pinky finger barely fits in this pacifier's hole.
She still has to stay in the isolette most of the day to keep warm. Sometimes we can't even take her out to feed her if her temperature is too low. We end up just feeding her through the little arm holes in the isolette.

This is her being burped after a feed. I think the forehead wrinkles are hilarious.

So Emily was discharged today and we left the hospital after staying there for a week. It was really hard to leave Lela, especially for Em. Luckily we live close to the hospital. We can drive there anytime, but it's heartbreaking not being able to bring your baby home with you. On a positive note, the nurses and doctors all think she is doing great and will be home before we know it.
