We have a roller!

We took Sasha in for her 4 month check-up a few days ago and the pediatrician asked if she was rolling over yet.  We said no. "Not even from tummy to back?" she asked.  "Nope."  After checking her over and finding her totally healthy and delicious, the pediatrician mentioned, "She's very alert and strong. She probably just doesn't feel like rolling over yet."  Sure enough, less than three days later Sasha got the urge.

She first rolled over in her sleep.  We only noticed because she startled herself into a screaming fit.  Good thing we have a video monitor!

For the first day or so, she only rolled while napping!  Ok, that's weird.  Then she figured out how to roll while awake, too.  Of course, she didn't know how to get back onto her back, so after being on her tum lost its appeal she would scream for us to turn her back over again.  Like a turtle stuck on its back.  Only the opposite.

Now she rolls from her back to tummy easily but she still doesn't roll from her tummy to her back very much, even though we know she knows how.  Like because of the time I left her on Monkey Island while getting dinner ready and had a minor heart attack when I glanced over at Monkey Island to find it EMPTY and realized that Sash rolled 3 feet across the floor and wedged herself under the ottoman.  Whoopsies.

In case you're keeping score, Lela rolled over right after her 6 month birthday which I guess is about the same gestational age as Sash here.  For a refresher on Lela's rolling skills (or to marvel at how ALIKE our girls look) see here.
