Today, September 5, 2009, one day before Lela's 7 week birthday, was Lela's estimated date of delivery. Clearly, they call it an "estimate" for a reason.It's hard for me to remember just how tiny and fragile Lela was when she was born. Today, I look at this beautiful, healthy, chubby baby and realize I have forgotten what it was like when she was covered in tubes and lines and leads, living in an isolette in the NICU for her first 15 days of life. I found a few before and after pictures to illustrate just how far Lela has come since her premature birth 7 weeks ago.
We love you, Lela. We can't wait to see how much more you will grow in the next 7 weeks. And 7 months ... and 7 years ....
