And what these pictures don't show you is that Lela cut her first tooth! Actually, it's teeth, plural! Yep, her bottom two teeth are coming in and she is not very happy about it. She's been teething for weeks, but the first little tip of tooth finally sprouted last Sunday. Yesterday we noticed that there are actually two coming in. She's handled teething pretty well so far - a few fussy nights, some extra-hard chomping on anything that comes close to her mouth, etc. But she had a really tough day today. She tried to be a good sport, but her mouth was clearly hurting - she alternated between grinning and wailing all day. Grin grin grin OUCH wail wail grin laugh FUSS, repeat.....
Tylenol seems to help. Also, we discovered that she loves eating ice cubes out of that plastic feeder we featured last post. Also, long naps are good. She seems to block out the pain when she's sleeping. My poor baby.
Sorry we don't have any teething related pictures, but the tooth stubs are pretty small and Lela has not cooperated with our best efforts to photograph them. Also, I feel bad taking a picture of her when she's wailing and chomping and drooling uncontrollably.
So, instead feast your eyes on happy baby covered in sweet potato:
