We spent 5 days in San Juan, Puerto Rico with ShuShu and Baba. It was Lela's first time to see the beach and she LOVED it! Unfortunately, Lela got sick a few days into our trip (she gets sick every 3.5 weeks, so this should not have been surprising). It didn't stop her from enjoying the beach every day, though. You can't keep this girl from the ocean!
Fortunately, the hotel beach was created by a man-made bay which made the waters unbelievably calm and non-threatening. I knew she would like the sand, but I was honestly surprised by how much she enjoyed the water. We tried all sorts of flotation apparatuses (apparati?). Obviously, this one was not a winner.
The beach was nice and shallow and Lela could walk out pretty far to play in the mild surf. Also cool: the float out in the middle of the bay was swarming with tropical fish! Lela liked sitting on the float and watching the fish come up to nibble on Daddy's toes.
My little water baby has been talking about going back to the beach ever since.
There are far too many pictures from our trip for a single post. Tomorrow, pictures of Lela in the sand!
