Lela has passed the half-year mark! And she weighs in at....[drum roll]...13.9 pounds!!! That's more than 4 times her birth weight. She's like the size of a small holiday turkey. Chubster McGee is catching up to her peers. She is now in the 15th percentile for weight for her un-adjusted age (at 4 months, she was in the 8th percentile). Well, she's gaining on her peers in terms of weight but losing steam in the height charts - she went from the 7th percentile to only the 5th. Looks like she has some of mommy's genes. And her head size is in the 25th percentile - looks like she has some of daddy's genes, too.
The doctor was so pleased with Lela's progress. She says that Lela is developmentally similar to a 5 month old baby, based on her ability to roll over, reach for things, smile and laugh, "talk", etc. It's just so amazing to think about how far she has come in just a few short months.
End-of-the-blog update: Due to the repeated and strenuous requests of various family members, we're going to continue the blog (more time to find new cookware in which to pose the baby!). I'm going to post on a reduced schedule, so check in at least once a week.

ReplyDeleteyey, the blog is not coming to an end! I need this blog to survive through out the bar exam study time :-) Lela's cute photos put a smile on my face every time and pump me up for the next day. She is an adorable strong little girl!
ReplyDeleteSo Gavin is in the 5th percentile for height and weight and he was born full term! Looks like Lela is holding up her own...and yes, we are all very happy the blog is not coming to an end. Medical school would not be complete without visits to your blog!!!
