Eight months.

Time is just flying by.  Sash is growing up at such an amazing pace!  This month, she decided that she's ready to walk. She's not there yet, thank god, but she's well on her way.  She pulls up onto all furniture, and she's already started experimenting with letting go and standing for a second or three on her own before plopping down gracefully.  Did I mention she'll be our athlete?  She's also starting to cruise around furniture - moving her feet around it while holding on.  Time to thoroughly baby-proof the house.

Sash has been a much better sleeper this month and she's also discovered that FOOD IS YUMMY.  After she got the hang of the pouch food, she soon moved on to actual solids.  Cheerios are a favorite. We skipped straight to table food, so now Sash gets little pieces of whatever we're eating. So far, she's been a fan of green beans, turkey, cheese, tomatoes, nectarine, apple, blueberry, grapes, and small pieces of bread, tortilla, or pita.  We're trying to start sign language with her like we did with Lela (although we didn't start it with Lela until she was 18 months old) and I don't think she gets the sign language yet, but she is very vocal when she wants more food off our plates.

She's definitely our little trouble-maker, but even when she's getting into everything she's not supposed to get into, she is so cheerful about it that you can't help but laugh.  If there is something dangerous or toxic within 20 feet, though, you can bet she'll be there in no time and attempting to get it into her mouth to chew on.  She's unstoppable and un-distractable when she sets her sights on something. That kid will topple mountains in her future, I'm sure of it.
