Our first Texas beach trip! We spent four days in a rented house in Port Aransas over Lela's birthday weekend. Grandma Connie, Grandpa Rick and ShuShu were along for the fun. The house was located in this adorable little beach community, full of pastel colored single-family homes, two pools and a beach front and the house came with a golf-cart for the family to get around.
The first day we set up a large tent on the beach and I had grand plans to hang on the beach all day. I packed snacks, drinks, extra blankets and a mat for Sasha to nap on. Of course, that didn't work at all. Sash was far to excited to settle down to nap in the sticky, sandy heat. And Babak took Lela out into the surf in an inflatable raft, which proved to be a little too exciting for Lela and she all but refused to get back into the ocean after that. So, back to the pool. Yes, we could have had the same experience if we had simply hung out at the neighborhood pool all weekend. But the golf cart made it worthwhile, I suppose.
Lela agreed to go back to the beach the second day after we promised she didn't have to get salt water in her face again. She had a grand old time building sandcastles with ShuShu and dipping her toes in the shallows.

My beautiful beach girls. The lens was fogging up from the humidity!

Daddy and Lela. Gone fishin'. No fish were actually caught, but
Lela "caught" some shrimp (i.e., the bait).
