Lela and Ella

Our friends Becca, Sten and little Ella came to visit in April.  Lela has been talking about Ella for months.  You may remember that Ella came around Christmas time and Lela's plague of norovirus wiped everyone out.  She talks about that all the time - "Remember when Ella came for the slumber party and I threw up a lot?"  Yes, we all remember.

Fortunately, no one got sick this time.  And the girls had a ball!  We had to re-create the lamp post picture.

We had to get a bathtub photo.  You know, so we have material for their high school graduation slide show.

Lela was so excited about the slumber party.  We laid out blankets and sleeping bags on the floor so they could sleep together (it wasn't enough that Lela has twin beds in her room).  Look how excited she was!

Becca read stories. We got everyone tucked in.  And then Ella wanted to sleep in her parents' room instead.  Lela was crushed, but she recovered when she realized that "Ella is still a two year old and not as much of a big girl as Lela, who is a three year old."  Lela took comfort that next time Ella comes to visit, she will be a three year old, too, and therefore will want to sleep in Lela's room.  Also, Lela still got to enjoy having a solo slumber party by sleeping in the sleeping bag in her room.  Sleeping bags are always fun.
