Thanksgiving 2011

It being our first year in our first home, we volunteered (i.e., insisted) on hosting Thanksgiving.  Wow.  That was a lot of work.  But a lot of fun...and I'll probably volunteer/demand to do it again some day.  We had to feed 15 for dinner, so we made two turkeys (oven baked and a rotisserie on the grill), two different stuffings, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, and two pies.  All from scratch.  Having never hosted Thanksgiving before. (Although, fortunately, we practiced cooking a turkey last year.  Remember Babak and Ryan injecting our turkey?).  We had Baba and ShuShu and Uncle Ali, Grandma Connie and Grandpa Rick, Uncle Alan and Aunt Laura (and little Cousin X in utero), and Uncle Ben all in town for the weekend.  PLUS, we had Uncle David and Anne (my aunt and uncle) and their daughter Halley come for Thanksgiving Day (sadly Leslie was home with post-semester-in-New-Zealand-sickness-and-jet-lag).  PLUS, we had my cousins Chance and Robin visit from Denver and Chicago on the day after Thanksgiving!  That was also the same day my brother Ben fell off a cliff and busted open his head and other body parts.  You know what they say...It's Not A Family Holiday Until Someone Goes To The ER.

So, you can probably understand why we didn't get around to taking any photos of the weekend.  Whoops. I never even photographed our Thanksgiving Feast Masterpiece!

We did manage to get some family shots.  I was desperately trying to find something appropriate for our Christmas cards (so most of you will find the top picture familiar).  Thank god we got that one photo.  The rest of them looked something like this:
