I have plenty of updates and plenty of new photos, all patiently waiting for me to organize into blog posts for the 5 of you still reading this blog...soon, soon. I promise. Until then, here's a spontaneous photo snapped tonight of our big girl and her daddy and doggie.
Lela's growing up into a little girl. She plays harder and stays up later. She has preferences and favorites. She commands us, "Mommy sit here" "Mommy color." She struggles when her little emotions can't process a disappointment or a set back, sometimes resulting in the cutest little mini-tantrum I can imagine. Even when she's having a little meltdown, you can see her processing the situation and trying to figure out how to express herself more effectively. It must be tough to have such a limited vocabulary in such a wide world of wants and needs. She peed in the potty for the first time last night and was rightfully rewarded with mango sherbet after. No, we're not really potty training yet but we've introduced the concept. Now that she knows performance is rewarded with sherbet, we may see renewed potty enthusiasm! She came home from daycare with exquisite bite mark from her friend Elle. She discovered and was fascinated by a giant slug on the sidewalk. She has discovered a deep and passionate love of hummus. Also, an obsession with putting on her own shoes. Over and over and over again. She also loves the "B-B-C" song (the A-B-C song) and sings along with the wrong letters. It's fascinating and inspiring to see how much she learns and grows every day. Can you imagine if our minds has this endless sponge-like capacity to learn throughout our entire lives! And speaking of sponge-like...she learned the word "damn." Bad mommy is learning to watch her mouth!
Again, sorry on the blog silence. We're just having too much fun keeping up with her to have time to write about it.
