Yes, we had ANOTHER blizzard. I swear, DC isn't usually this snowy but we're having some sort of arctic winter here. For about 36 hours, we had true blizzard conditions - and got over 25 inches of snow! It was still snowing when we snapped this pic:

We even lost power for about 24 hours. Let me tell you, it is not fun to be without power for that long, especially with a congested little baby in the house. Luckily, we have a gas fireplace in the living room and gas-powered hot water heater, so we didn't freeze.
Also, we had plenty of food in the house...but we started worrying about the contents of the fridge. We would wait until we needed like 5 things from the fridge and then we would open it super-fast and grab everything we could think we would possibly need before slamming the door. Then we ran into the problem of how to put things back into the fridge. Well, it was plenty cold outside so PROBLEM SOLVED:

If you look closely, you will notice shredded cheese, vodka and a bottle of breast milk.
A few hours later and we had practically the entire contents of the fridge/freezer stocked on the back porch.

Yes, that is breast milk. Seriously, I worried more about my milk defrosting than any reasonable person probably should. I mean, obsessed. But a lot of work went into that production and Lela needs to keep her chub up! It was pretty funny when I had to head out to the back porch in my bathrobe with a flashlight to dig around in the snow for Lela's late-night bottle.

Fortunately, the power came back on Sunday morning and then it was time to dig out the cars. Lucky for me and Lela, we got to hang out inside in the warmth while Babak and Uncle Leshaw shoveled snow all day. Yea for the "I have a baby and she can't be left all alone in the house" excuse!!
